Mumbai, March 13 (NationPress) The Mumbai Police have enforced a prohibitory order aimed at curbing the movement and unlawful assembly of five or more individuals starting from 00.01 hours on March 14 until 24.00 hours on March 28 in Greater Mumbai. This directive was issued by Akbar Pathan, the deputy commissioner and executive magistrate, representing the Mumbai Police Commissioner.

“Given the intelligence received, it is feared that a breach of peace and public disorder may occur, posing a serious threat to human lives and property. Therefore, it is deemed necessary to implement a prohibitory order to prevent any such incidents and maintain public order,” the order states.

As per the order, any processions, the use of loudspeakers, amplification devices, musical bands, or the ignition of firecrackers during assemblies have been strictly banned.

Nonetheless, exceptions to this prohibition apply to marriage ceremonies, funerals, statutory meetings of companies, clubs, co-operative societies, and social gatherings for conducting their routine business. Assemblies in or near cinemas, theatres, or any entertainment venues for watching films or performances are also exempted.

Additionally, the prohibitory order does not apply to gatherings around courts, government offices for official duties, educational institutions for academic purposes, and assemblies in commercial establishments for standard trading activities.
