Amaravati, Feb 11 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, emphasized on Wednesday the importance of adopting the successful strategy employed by the BJP in Gujarat. He expressed his ambition to achieve more than just one or two terms in office, asserting the necessity to emulate Gujarat's proven success.
Speaking at a gathering of NDA legislators, he noted that the BJP has maintained its grip on power in Gujarat for over thirty years, having not faced defeat in elections since 1995.
Attendees at the meeting included MLAs and MLCs from the TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP, which took place in the Assembly Committee Hall on the inaugural day of the state legislature's budget session.
Both Chief Minister Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan urged legislators to promote unity within the alliance and to engage in constructive discussions in the assembly.
Naidu asserted that the NDA has gained strength since achieving a resounding victory in the 2024 Assembly elections, highlighting the importance of fostering closer ties among NDA partners at a grassroots level. He proposed that district-level meetings be held among all three parties to enhance coordination.
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan emphasized the need for the coalition to remain in power for another 15 years to guide the state's development. He criticized the YSRCP leaders for not learning from their recent defeat and called for united efforts from the coalition legislators to counter the YSRCP's strategies.
Chandrababu Naidu urged NDA legislators to establish their reputations positively and to refrain from personal rivalry during assembly sessions.
He pointed out that the coalition has won public support through its development and welfare initiatives and encouraged legislators to build upon this trust.
Naidu requested that the legislators articulate to the public the benefits they are deriving from the coalition government's initiatives.
He mentioned ongoing projects worth over Rs 1 lakh crore for highways and Rs 90,000 crore for railway development in the state. He also acknowledged the Central Government's support for the development of Amaravati and the Polavaram project.
Naidu instructed MLAs to come prepared to discuss legislative matters, stating he would be attentive to their contributions in the assembly.
He insisted that every MLA should be present in the assembly from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and he committed to attending sessions daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
