Amaravati, July 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has approached AI Singapore for assistance in establishing AI research and innovation centres within the state.
During his third day in Singapore, the Chief Minister met with AI Singapore's Deputy Executive Chairman, Prof. Mohan Kankanahalli, emphasizing the significance of fostering collaborations between AI Singapore and local universities and research institutions. He proposed the introduction of AI training programs, exchange initiatives, and skill enhancement modules for students throughout the state.
As per the Chief Minister’s Office, the discussions predominantly focused on leveraging AI across various sectors including healthcare, agriculture, education, and public services.
CM Naidu and Prof. Kankanahalli also investigated opportunities in technology promotion, deep tech, and AI innovation.
Additionally, the Chief Minister met NG Jan Lin Wilin, Senior Vice President of SIA Engineering, to talk about the forthcoming airports in the state and to seek collaboration for Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services.
He informed the SIA representatives about the government's newly launched industry-friendly policies while highlighting the extensive opportunities present in the aviation sector. CM Naidu invited the firm to visit Andhra Pradesh to explore potential investments.
In a positive response, SIA Engineering's Senior Vice President assured that a delegation would soon be dispatched to the state.
The Andhra Pradesh government aims to establish a premier MRO centre by utilizing the expertise and technology from firms like SIA Engineering. Visakhapatnam and Krishnapatnam have been earmarked as ideal locations for this venture.
Later that day, Chief Minister Naidu is scheduled to meet Singapore's President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to discuss investment and infrastructure collaboration between Singapore and Andhra Pradesh.
He will also engage with former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to discuss transparent governance and smart city development, exploring how Singapore’s expertise can benefit the state.
The delegation led by the Chief Minister will visit the Jurong Petrochemical Island to examine the planning and development of industrial zones, residential areas, and logistics hubs.
Later, he will hold discussions with TVS Motors Managing Director Sudarshan Venu regarding the automobile manufacturing sector and the setting up of automobile parks within the state.
