Mumbai, April 10 (NationPress) Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia has teamed up with the Assam Police and the PIIR Foundation to advocate for responsible digital parenting and protect children’s rights online, as part of the #DontBeASharent campaign.
As a mother of two, Neha expressed, “As a mom, I cherish the moments of sharing my children’s achievements online. Yet, we must contemplate — when does it become excessive? ‘#DontBeASharent’ serves as a vital reminder to safeguard our children not only in the physical realm but also in the digital landscape,” she remarked.
Initially launched by Assam Police, #DontBeASharent has evolved into a worldwide movement that underscores the dangers of sharing children’s personal data on social media and emphasizes the necessity for careful digital conduct by parents and guardians.
The PIIR Foundation has partnered with Assam Police Sishu Mitra to further this dialogue through Infantia. This initiative builds on the momentum of #DontBeASharent, uniting experts, policymakers, educators, law enforcement, and parents to tackle the new challenges surrounding digital childhoods.
The campaign will broaden its reach through an array of awareness videos, public service announcements, and educational workshops in schools and community venues, with intentions to expand internationally.
For those unaware, the couple married in May 2018, despite not having dated previously. Their bond initiated as a friendship, with Angad having admired Neha for many years.
They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Mehr, in November 2018, and three years later, in October 2021, they became parents to their son, Guriq.
The former beauty queen made her acting debut in a New Delhi play called Graffiti. Her Bollywood debut occurred with the 2003 film Qayamat: City Under Threat. Recently, she featured in Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari.
This film, inspired by true events, also stars Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk. It is a spiritual sequel to Good Newwz and revolves around heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive phenomenon where twins are born to the same mother from different biological fathers.
Currently, Neha is a gang leader on the youth-centric show “MTV Roadies”, alongside Prince Narula, Elvish Yadav, and Rhea Chakraborty as fellow gang leaders.
