Mumbai, Aug 4 (NationPress) Bollywood actress and advocate for maternal rights, Neha Dhupia, is gearing up to promote her initiative Freedom to Feed for World Breastfeeding Week 2025. She firmly believes that no woman should ever feel ashamed for simply nurturing her child.
Established in 2019, Freedom to Feed originated from Neha’s personal experiences during motherhood, aiming to normalize public breastfeeding without stigma, shame, or judgment.
Reflecting on the campaign’s revival, Neha stated: “When I initially launched Freedom to Feed, it stemmed from a deeply personal space — from feeling vulnerable, judged, and isolated during what should have been the most natural and empowering phase of my life.”
“Over the years, I’ve realized how many women have experienced similar feelings and how impactful it can be when we unite to share our narratives. This year, I aspire to amplify the conversation, making it even more honest and profound. Because no woman should ever feel ashamed for simply feeding her child.”
She emphasized that this movement is about choice, dignity, and respect.
“It’s time for all of us to advocate for that.”
In 2018, Neha married actor Angad Bedi, son of former Indian cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi, in a private ceremony at a Gurudwara. Later that year, in November, they welcomed a daughter named Mehr Dhupia Bedi.
In July 2021, the couple announced they were expecting their second child via an Instagram post. Their son, Guriq Singh Dhupia Bedi, was born in October 2021.
This year, Neha will engage in meaningful digital dialogues with renowned actors Radhika Apte, Yuvika Chaudhary, and Sonali Sehgall, exploring themes of body autonomy, societal expectations, and the emotional landscape of motherhood.
On the acting front, Neha was last featured in “Bad Newz,” a film inspired by true events that revolves around heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive phenomenon where twins are born to the same mother from different biological fathers.
