New Delhi, Sep 21 (NationPress) The Delhi Raj Niwas has recently released images showcasing the forthcoming 'Aarambh Library' in Vikaspuri, located in West Delhi. This initiative, developed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), aims to provide a public reading space equipped with various facilities.
In a post on X, the L-G's Secretariat announced, 'Aarambh' Library – Opening Soon at Vikaspuri! This 24x7 affordable study environment is designed for focus, learning, and personal growth. Walk in any time and embark on your educational journey!
Accompanying the announcement was a photo of the library's construction site at Block-M Vikaspuri, marking it as the fifth such reading room to be established in the city.
According to the message, this library will accommodate 60 students daily in shifts of eight hours, operating round-the-clock and serving students from nearby areas, including Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden, Tilak Nagar, and Paschim Vihar.
The Aarambh initiative was launched by the L-G following a tragic incident in Old Rajendra Nagar last July, where three aspiring civil service candidates lost their lives in a flooded basement.
The inaugural Aarambh Library was opened in January 2025 at Old Rajendra Nagar, followed by others at Adchini Village in South Delhi and the third at Sector-16B, Dwarka, in July this year.
On September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, celebrated as Sewa Diwas, Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena inaugurated the fourth 'Aarambh Library' in Rohini.
During the launch event, the L-G stated, 'Today is a significant day as we honor Sewa Diwas in celebration of our visionary leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi.'
He noted, 'The Aarambh initiative aims to provide safe and dignified spaces for students to pursue their ambitions, particularly those coming to Delhi from various parts of the country.' He emphasized that initiatives like Aarambh play a crucial role in helping them achieve their aspirations.
Furthermore, he mentioned that each new library not only creates study spaces but also fosters hope and strengthens Delhi's educational landscape. 'I commend DDA and assure the youth of Delhi that we will continue to support such initiatives in the future,' he added.
This modern reading facility in G-Block, Sector-11, Rohini, operates continuously in three shifts of eight hours. It can host over 130 students daily across three shifts for a nominal fee of Rs 1,000 per month per shift.
Facilities include modular study tables with power outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi, secure lockers, CCTV monitoring, comfortable seating, fully air-conditioned and well-illuminated interiors, along with separate washrooms for male and female students. An accessible restroom is also available.
Additionally, 'Cafe Vardaan' has been established to offer light meals and snacks, providing students with a space to unwind and refresh.
