Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 3 (NationPress) A new allegation has emerged against the troubled former Congress MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil, coinciding with the upcoming court hearing for his anticipatory bail plea next week, further entangling him in legal issues.

The husband of the accuser has stepped forward with accusations that tighten the noose around Mamkoottathil, who was previously expelled from the primary membership of the Congress party following a second sexual harassment allegation.

The complainant has formally lodged a petition with both the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police, claiming that Mamkoottathil has significantly disrupted his family life.

He has called for legal action against Mamkoottathil under Section 84 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

This development holds considerable political weight, especially as discussions continue regarding Mamkoottathil's potential candidacy from Palakkad.

According to the allegations, Mamkoottathil knowingly initiated an inappropriate relationship with the man's wife, fully aware of her marital status.

The complainant asserts that this relationship has inflicted severe reputational harm and contributed to the collapse of his family.

He emphasized that he is the sole son of his parents and had been living in their hometown, while his wife had been residing elsewhere for work.

Taking advantage of his absence, Mamkoottathil allegedly manipulated and misled the woman.

Mamkoottathil had previously contended that he met the woman during a challenging period in her marriage and that his involvement was merely to mediate their conflicts.

However, the husband firmly refuted this assertion, questioning why Mamkoottathil never reached out to him if his intentions were genuinely to assist.

The complainant also stated that once his wife pursued legal action, he found himself portrayed as the actual victim.

He claimed to have faced severe cyberbullying, personal humiliation, and character defamation.

Despite experiencing significant emotional distress, the complainant vowed to pursue the case resolutely and is prepared to present additional evidence if necessary.

A Special Investigation Team had previously recorded the husband's statement regarding the woman's complaint.

Currently, two cases are reportedly pending against Mamkoottathil.

This latest accusation arises just as the High Court is set to resume final considerations on Mamkoottathil's anticipatory bail plea next week.

In light of these developments, Mamkoottathil asserted that the truth will ultimately prevail in the rape allegations against him and expressed confidence that only the truth will emerge victorious.
