New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) The son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Nishant Kumar, is poised to embark on a political journey, with an official announcement anticipated shortly, as confirmed by senior JD(U) leader and state minister Shrawan Kumar on Tuesday.

In an interview with IANS, Shrawan Kumar revealed that the decision for Nishant Kumar's entry into active politics has been made. "The formal declaration of Nishant Kumar's active political involvement will be made by the JD(U) soon. He is expected to receive a significant responsibility within the party," he stated.

When questioned about the possibility of Nishant being nominated to the Rajya Sabha, the minister remarked, "Anything is possible," suggesting that the party's leadership will determine his specific role in due course.

Shrawan Kumar also noted a longstanding request from party members and Bihar's youth for Nishant Kumar to take a more active political stance. "For quite some time, the youth of Bihar, along with community leaders and party members, have expressed their desire for Nishant Kumar to engage fully in politics. There is now great anticipation surrounding his forthcoming involvement, and it is expected that he will play a pivotal role within the party," he said.

Additionally, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar echoed support for Nishant's political entry. "The prospect of Nishant Kumar entering active politics is widely endorsed by JD(U) members and the general populace of Bihar, who feel he should be part of the political landscape. Although some may have reservations, Nishant Kumar's involvement in politics is essential," he added.

Meanwhile, Minister Deepak Prakash expressed that if Nishant Kumar opts to enter politics, it would be a positive development. "The Chief Minister has brought about significant social change in Bihar, which is commendable. If Nishant Kumar decides to step into politics, it would be welcomed. Youth should engage actively and positively in politics to strengthen democracy," he remarked.

LJP MLA Raju Tiwari commented, "This is a matter pertaining to their party. However, if he assumes responsibility, it would be a joyous occasion. He is youthful, energetic, and his father has a commendable history of service to Bihar. Thus, if he steps forward, it would be beneficial. As a party, we would gladly welcome him."

"He will emerge as a commendable leader. He represents the younger generation, possesses a fresh perspective, is devout, and has a kind-hearted nature. Therefore, his involvement would undoubtedly benefit Bihar," he added.

Party officials characterized Nishant Kumar's decision to enter politics as a major development for the JD(U), perceiving it as a substantial boost for the organization. Although the specific responsibilities assigned to him will be determined later by party leadership, his entry is seen as a significant milestone for the JD(U) in the political arena of Bihar.
