New Delhi, Feb 28 (NationPress) As discussions intensify regarding Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar potentially entering the political arena, senior JD(U) leader and MLC Ghulam Gaus has welcomed him warmly, highlighting the necessity of fresh leadership in governance.

In a conversation with IANS, Gaus remarked, "If he chooses to join, he is more than welcome. The new generation must take the lead in politics. It's only natural for one generation to pave the way for the next. Without new leadership, how can the state or nation operate effectively?"

When questioned about Nitish Kumar’s long-standing opposition to dynastic politics and whether Nishant’s possible entry contradicts this viewpoint, Gaus dismissed any such worries.

"There is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits a politician’s son from entering politics. If he is dedicated, makes an effort, and is passionate about social issues, then why shouldn't he participate? Anyone can engage in politics, and he should too," Gaus emphasized.

Speculation surrounding Nishant Kumar’s political entry has surged following the display of posters by JD(U) workers outside the party office in Patna, encouraging him to immerse himself in public life. Nevertheless, Nishant, who tends to maintain a low profile, has remained non-committal when asked about his future plans.

"Arrey chhodiye (just leave it)," he replied cryptically when probed about entering politics.

At 47, Nishant is seldom seen in public and has yet to engage in political activities. However, his attendance at JD(U) events and recent comments have sparked further speculation.

On February 25, he honored the memory of his mother, Manju Sinha, on her birth anniversary. Addressing reporters, he expressed optimism that JD(U), under his father's leadership, would excel in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

"I hope JD(U) enhances its performance in the elections. I encourage everyone to vote for the party," Nishant stated.

As Bihar approaches the Assembly elections later this year, the discussion surrounding Nishant Kumar’s potential entry into politics is likely to amplify, particularly within JD(U), where party members appear eager for him to assume a leadership position.
