Patna, Sep 15 (NationPress) Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday expressed his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the contributions made by the Centre under his guidance to Bihar are so significant that they require no further explanation.
Nitish Kumar spoke at a public gathering alongside the Prime Minister during the launch of projects totaling Rs 40,000 crore, which included a new airport in Purnea.
Recognizing the magnitude of the projects inaugurated, Nitish Kumar remarked: “Today, 12 projects spanning railways, electricity, airports, and various other sectors are being launched by the Prime Minister. You (PM Modi) have significantly contributed to Bihar, and there’s no need for elaboration.”
He invited the women in attendance to rise, applaud, and greet the Prime Minister in appreciation of his efforts.
The Chief Minister drew a comparison between the current development trajectory and the previous state of affairs before his administration took charge.
“Prior to our government taking office on November 24, 2005, Bihar had little to show. The prior administration accomplished nothing. Since our arrival, there has been relentless progress. There were some irregularities along the way due to certain leaders — one of whom is present here,” he mentioned, without specifying names.
Nitish Kumar confirmed that moving forward, there would be no irregularities, and the state is firmly committed to inclusive development.
The Chief Minister highlighted numerous achievements of his administration, including enhancing the power supply across the state.
“Previously, Bihar lacked electricity. We have brought power to every household, and now electricity is provided free of charge for all,” he stated.
He also pointed out the social security initiatives of his government, which have raised pensions for the elderly, disabled, and widows.
“We initially pledged for 20 lakh jobs, but we have already employed 39 lakh individuals. By the time of the elections, this number will reach 50 lakh,” Nitish Kumar announced.
The remarks from the Chief Minister emphasized his government’s collaboration with the Centre in advancing infrastructure, social welfare, and job creation, while also indicating unity within the NDA as elections approach.
