Patna, Jan 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, on Thursday, inaugurated 188 development initiatives valued at Rs 827 crore in the Samastipur district, as part of his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra (Prosperity Journey).
Among these projects, the Chief Minister laid the groundwork for 71 new initiatives, inaugurated 74 completed projects, and commenced work on 43 additional projects, significantly enhancing infrastructure and public welfare efforts in the area.
During his visit, Nitish Kumar evaluated the Government Engineering College in the district and inaugurated the newly built Amenity Hall, where he engaged with both male and female students.
He also explored departmental exhibits set up on the college grounds, reviewed development schemes, and distributed cheques to beneficiaries of various government programs.
The Chief Minister further assessed development and welfare initiatives in Samastipur and examined projects from the earlier Pragati Yatra.
He inspected the under-construction RCC bridge and bypass road at Hakimabad while reviewing projects initiated under the Seven Resolutions (Phase 2 and 3).
Addressing a large audience at the Housing Board Ground, Nitish Kumar emphasized the development initiatives and policies of his administration, reaffirming the state's dedication to inclusive growth and infrastructure development.
Several high-ranking leaders and officials attended the event, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Rajya Sabha MP and JD(U) National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha, Union Minister of State Ram Nath Thakur, District In-charge Minister Shrawon Kumar, Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, and LJPRV MP of Samastipur Shambhavi Choudhary, alongside senior officials from both district and state government.
This occasion marked the third day of the second phase of the Samriddhi Yatra.
Previously, the Chief Minister visited Madhubani on January 27 and Darbhanga on January 28, where he also inaugurated and launched numerous development projects.
The first phase of the Samriddhi Yatra commenced from West Champaran on January 16, during which projects worth several crores were initiated across various districts.
