Over 6,600 Individuals from Delhi's Unauthorised Colonies Participate in Special Camps in 48 Hours

New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) A total of 6,654 property owners have participated in 10 special camps set up by the Delhi Development Authority over the last two days in unauthorised colonies, declared Delhi Lt Governor V.K. Saxena on Monday.
In a social media post in Hindi, the L-G mentioned that at the single window camp for the Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) scheme, 1,028 applications were submitted for ownership rights.
A total of 710 old applications were rectified, 275 applications received approval, and 231 Conveyance deeds and authorisation slips were processed in various unauthorised colonies.
“These statistics are promising. I urge my sisters and brothers residing in unauthorised colonies of Delhi to actively participate in the forthcoming camps and join the Prime Minister's initiative to grant ownership rights across all unauthorised colonies in Delhi,” he stated.
On Sunday, the L-G visited the camp at Shyam Vihar, Najafgarh, and spoke with beneficiaries about their satisfaction with the services provided at the camp.
During this visit, Saxena also presented ownership certificates to 40 beneficiaries. He emphasized the need for the DDA to expedite the processing of the pending 62,000 applications while also addressing new applications promptly to benefit as many individuals as possible.
Following the L-G's directives, the DDA initiated these camps for residents of Delhi's unauthorised colonies. These camps will occur every Saturday and Sunday from November 30 to December 29 at 10 processing centres located within these unauthorised colonies.
Saxena highlighted that the PM-UDAY Scheme was introduced in Delhi as part of the Prime Minister’s commitment to confer ownership rights to residents of unauthorised colonies, and these camps would greatly assist in addressing the backlog of applications that have been pending for several years.
On this occasion, MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat from West Delhi and MP Bansuri Swaraj from New Delhi were present at the camp site in Khirki Extension, Malviya Nagar.
Various services offered at these camps encompass issues related to conveyance deeds and authorisation slips, GIS Survey, new registrations, and assistance with bond and notarization.
These camps are situated in Burari, Najafgarh, Aya Nagar Ext, Karawal Nagar, Budh Vihar Colony, Nangloi, Khirki Extension, Malviya Nagar, and New Ashok Nagar.
For more information, the details of the camps can be found on the DDA’s website www.dda.gov.in.
