Rishabh Pant's Motivational Talk: Building a New Legacy for IPL 2026
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 13 (NationPress) Rishabh Pant, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, engaged in an inspiring talk with the newly inducted members of the team ahead of IPL 2026. He emphasized, “let's take whatever we can from all these gentlemen here and aim to create something remarkable this season.”
In the recent mini-auction held last December, LSG welcomed six players: the Sri Lankan star Wanindu Hasaranga, South Africa's Anrich Nortje, Mukul Choudhary, local talent Naman Tiwari, Akshat Raghuwanshi, and Josh Inglis. This diverse mix brings both experience and potential to their squad. Additionally, they acquired Arjun Tendulkar from Mumbai Indians and Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami from Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“Many team members are from last season. We have a few new faces joining us. Welcome, everyone! It's vital to foster relationships. If we don’t discuss cricket, we won’t progress. As individuals, let’s absorb as much knowledge as we can from everyone here and work towards building something exciting for this upcoming season,” Pant stated in a video released by LSG.
Under Pant's leadership, LSG concluded the previous season with only six victories. Despite his stunning unbeaten 118 in the final league match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the team finished seventh in the standings.
“Every new season brings with it a desire to create something special; we aim for victory. However, it’s equally important to clarify our goals—what do we aspire to achieve as individuals and as a team? This is the perfect time for that clarity. While this is a season camp, it acts as a pre-season camp as the remaining squad members will join around March 15-16,” he added.
“This time is about getting to know each other. Let's enjoy our time together, filled with energy, fun, and learning. Let’s aim to build something great,” Pant concluded.
LSG will commence their IPL 2026 journey against the Punjab Kings on April 1 at the Ekana Stadium, followed by a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad on April 5.
