Mumbai, April 26 (NationPress) As the latest Super Nintendo advertisement reached audiences, Hollywood star Paul Rudd reminisced about his initial collaboration with the gaming company back in 1991.
During an interview with People, Rudd expressed that even after his role in 'Clueless', four years later, he did not perceive himself as an A-lister.
“I didn’t really feel that famous,” he mentioned, adding that while pursuing his acting career, he still maintained a regular job when he filmed this commercial.
“As I began to receive more offers, occasionally someone would recognize me by saying, 'Hey, Clueless!' or something similar. But honestly, nothing felt drastically different,” the 'Friends' star continued.
“I think the nature of the time played a role; there was no social media or internet back then — everything moved at a slower pace,” Rudd elaborated.
He also shared that throughout the 90s, he took on various jobs, from waiting tables to DJing at weddings and bar mitzvahs, to support his acting aspirations.
However, post-90s, he gained significant fame with films like 'Romeo + Juliet', 'Avengers', and 'Ghostbusters'.
Referring to his experience working on the new Nintendo Switch 2 advertisement as “fun,” Paul remarked that it “felt reminiscent of the old days.”
In a nod to the 90s advertisement style, Rudd stated, “When you choose to engage in this type of play, this kind of fun, this kind of experience...”
A year prior to the ad's release, a clip from the 1991 commercial went viral on social media, surprising netizens with Rudd's appearance.
“It was amusing because some people sent it to me, and I always enjoy seeing actors in their early commercials,” he shared.
