Bengaluru, Feb 19 (NationPress) Shortly after the Karnataka Lokayukta cleared Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family members of any wrongdoing related to the MUDA land scam, petitioner Snehamayi Krishna expressed her dismay, stating that the Lokayukta officials have "sold their souls to political leaders".

In a media briefing, Snehamayi Krishna remarked: “While serving the notice, the Lokayukta also stated that they are submitting a ‘B report’ due to a lack of evidence. I will challenge this in court.”

“It is now evident that my suspicions about the Lokayukta were well-founded. The officials have acted as though they have sold their souls to political figures. Despite providing all necessary documentation, the Lokayukta Police issued a notice claiming they are filing a ‘B report,’ asserting there is no evidence against CM Siddaramaiah, his wife B.M. Parvathi, brother-in-law Mallikarjunaswamy, and landowner J. Devaraj.”

Krishna criticized the Lokayukta’s ruling, stating: “The citizens of the state should question this decision. If I cannot substantiate my allegations against Siddaramaiah, I will cease to be Snehamayi Krishna. Even someone with a high school education, like myself, can discern the truth—yet officials contend there is no evidence. I have submitted all necessary documents against the four accused, yet the Lokayukta is presenting a ‘B report.”

“I challenge the Chief Minister… if he possesses the courage, let him publicly disclose the allotments made under the 50:50 ratio. Can he demonstrate that such a rule exists? If he can prove it, I am prepared to go to jail. The citizens of the state must question both the Chief Minister and the Lokayukta officials. If they have any morals, they must justify their claims.”

Krishna further alleged that CM Siddaramaiah not only leveraged his influence in this matter but also engaged in illegal activities to amass property.

“I have provided all essential documents—any investigative agency can verify them. How can a final report be presented before the investigation is even concluded? There are guidelines established by the Honorable Supreme Court that are being disregarded. Officials should be ashamed to submit a ‘B report’ before completing the investigation. Is an IPS degree really necessary to comprehend this? What is the significance of IPS if they act in this manner?”

“As an ordinary citizen, I assert that under Section 173 of the CrPC, a report can only be submitted following a complete investigation. This is not a final report—it is an interim report. I will unveil these officials in court and substantiate my case. Those who have studied IPS are misleading the public and obscuring the truth,” he stated.

Furthermore, Snehamayi Krishna mentioned: “The Lokayukta has indicated that I can challenge this in court within a week, but I am confident that I will obtain additional time in court. I will submit whatever is required—that is not a significant issue. I will validate my allegations and help the citizens of the state comprehend the truth: how officials, compensated with taxpayer funds, are misusing their positions by allocating public resources to politicians.”

“This is merely an effort to shield the accused. How can such a report be filed before the investigation is finalized? It indicates they are protecting the accused. The law unequivocally states that only a complete investigation report can be submitted, as per Supreme Court guidelines. They have not even identified which documents are missing. They must clarify whether the land was allocated under the 50:50 ratio and if it was done legally. It is their duty to provide answers.”

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his family members have been acquitted by the Karnataka Lokayukta concerning the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam.

CM Siddaramaiah was identified as 'Accused No. 1', his wife B.M. Parvathi as 'Accused No. 2', and his brother-in-law Mallikarjunaswamy as 'Accused No. 3'.

A landowner, J. Devaraju, was named as 'Accused No. 4'.

It was claimed that CM Siddaramaiah illicitly obtained the allotment of 14 sites by MUDA in his wife’s name in exchange for the acquisition of 3.16 acres of land.

The Karnataka Lokayukta, which investigated the issue, has exonerated CM Siddaramaiah and the other accused.

This was communicated in a notice to petitioner Snehamayi Krishna on Wednesday.

The Lokayukta has instructed Snehamayi Krishna to approach the magistrate within a week of receiving the notice if he wishes to contest the findings.

Superintendent of Police T.J. Udesh indicated in the notice that the investigation concluded the case was civil in nature and inappropriate for criminal prosecution.

The allegations were deemed based on misconceptions or misunderstandings of the law, and no legal action could be initiated.

The notice further detailed that no evidence was found against CM Siddaramaiah and the other accused as the fourth point.

The notice also stated that the allegations against Accused Nos. 1 to 4 in the MUDA case were unsubstantiated due to a lack of evidence. The final report has been accepted by the court.
