Los Angeles, Dec 21 (NationPress) Actor Pierce Brosnan has expressed his enthusiasm about discovering who will take on the mantle of the next James Bond. The 72-year-old thespian portrayed 007 in four films from 1995 to 2002.
Brosnan resonates with the public's excitement regarding the choice of Daniel Craig's successor as the legendary spy, according to reports from ‘Female First UK’.
In an interview with The Times, he stated, "I'm just as thrilled as anyone else to see who will step into that iconic role. It's always a thrilling prospect. I admired Sean Connery, loved Roger Moore, Daniel Craig is phenomenal, and Tim Dalton was remarkable as well.”
However, the MobLand star mentioned that he has not revisited his Bond films with his children: Christopher (53), Sean (42), Dylan (28), and Paris (24).
He remarked, "I don't watch my movies. I’ve never seen the Bond films with my sons. I can’t explain why; they’re simply stored away.”
In response to a query about how 007 would celebrate Christmas, he was dismissive. "I don’t really want to entertain that question, nor will I. Because frankly, I couldn't care less! Why would I waste my time pondering where James Bond would be during the holidays?"
Nonetheless, he did share his own plans for the festive season, saying, "I know exactly where Pierce Brosnan will be spending Christmas. At home with my wife, in my cozy retreat in Hawaii.”
Pierce has previously indicated a wish to re-enter the James Bond franchise, noting last month that it would be "exciting to see what unfolds".
He conveyed to ‘GQ’ magazine, "People often ask me about Bond, 'Would you?' and so on, but that’s someone else’s responsibility. The potential for engagement in that cinematic world is thrilling, so it’s going to be fascinating to see how it develops. I believe everything evolves, everything shifts, so just enjoy the ride.”
Brosnan also mentioned that he has no plans to retire from acting as he aspires to "remain an artist until my last breath". Reflecting on his recent work in MobLand and The Thursday Murder Club, he said, "It’s been a joy to work continuously for two years. At my age, it allows me to embody diverse characters.”
