PM Modi Critiques Gandhi Family, Calls ‘Garibi Hatao’ the Greatest Slogan in Four Decades

New Delhi, Dec 14 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the Constitution debate in the Lok Sabha on Saturday, delivered a direct and unfiltered criticism of the Congress party and the Gandhi family, asserting that ‘Garibi hatao’ is the greatest slogan of all time.
In his remarks to the House, PM Modi stated: "The Congress party has a particular affinity for a phrase they frequently endorse. Today, I wish to mention this phrase: it is garibi hatao, which stands as the longest-running slogan of Congress administrations."
According to PM Modi, members of Congress and their family have resorted to the rhetoric of ‘Garibi hatao’ for four long decades, yet they have accomplished nothing to actualize this slogan. Instead, the phrase has primarily benefited the party, thus making it the longest-running slogan of the Congress family.
Importantly, ‘Garibi hatao’ was a cornerstone of Indira Gandhi’s electoral strategy, leading to remarkable outcomes for her. Conversely, Congress has labeled PM Modi's electoral promises as ‘jumla’, accusing him of misleading the public with untruthful commitments.
PM Modi, countering Congress’s 'jumla' accusation during the Constitution debate, contrasted the developmental policies of his administration with the 'hollow model' of the Congress governance.
"Despite 75 years of independence, people in our country have been deprived of basic necessities like toilets, sanitation, and clean drinking water. Up until 2014, women had to wait until night to answer nature's call. For seven decades, they lived in a state of helplessness," PM Modi remarked.
"For seventy years, people lacked access to drinking water, LPG cylinders, or banking services. Today, the impoverished and marginalized communities have been integrated into the mainstream. Those previously turned away by banks now possess bank accounts, with over 50 crore Jan Dhan accounts established today," he emphasized.
“Those who were unheard are now revered by Modi,” the Prime Minister stated, garnering applause from the members of the Treasury benches.
Additionally, highlighting initiatives for the specially-abled, street vendors, and Vishwakarmas, PM Modi mentioned: "The specially-abled individuals have been overlooked and neglected for seven decades since independence. Previously, the braille systems varied by state. We established a standardized language for their advancement. Today, they experience significant relief.
"The PM SVANidhi Yojana has greatly benefited street vendors. Today, they no longer rely on moneylenders but instead lead lives of dignity,” PM Modi concluded.
