New Delhi, Feb 27 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a high-level meeting at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg to evaluate the Ayush sector, emphasizing its crucial role in holistic well-being and healthcare, the preservation of traditional knowledge, and its contribution to the nation's wellness ecosystem, an official disclosed on Thursday.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister stated: "The Ayush sector has been instrumental in fostering holistic well-being and optimal health. I chaired a review meeting today aimed at enhancing its impact through research, innovation, and global partnerships. India is steadfast in making traditional medicine a cornerstone of our healthcare system."

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) conveyed: "Since the establishment of the Ministry of Ayush in 2014, the Prime Minister has laid out a definitive roadmap for its advancement, acknowledging its extensive potential. During a thorough review of the sector's growth, the Prime Minister underscored the necessity for strategic initiatives to fully exploit its capabilities. The meeting concentrated on optimizing resources, refining initiatives, and outlining a visionary strategy to enhance Ayush's presence on the global stage."

During the meeting, PM Modi highlighted the sector's significant contributions, which include its role in fostering preventive healthcare, stimulating rural economies through the cultivation of medicinal plants, and enhancing India’s reputation as a frontrunner in traditional medicine.

He pointed out the sector's resilience and growth, indicating its rising acceptance globally and its ability to promote sustainable development and job creation.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to fortifying the Ayush sector through policy support, research, and innovation. He also stressed the importance of endorsing a holistic and integrated health approach, along with establishing standard protocols for Yoga, Naturopathy, and the Pharmacy Sector.
