New Delhi, Aug 20 (NationPress) The Ayush industry is making significant strides towards the $200 billion target, as stated by Prataprao Jadhav, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush.
During the inaugural session of the first Parliamentary Consultative Committee Meeting for the Ministry of Ayush in the national capital, he remarked on this progress.
Jadhav underscored that, for the first time since the Ministry of Ayush gained independent status in 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a dedicated Parliamentary Consultative Committee has been formed.
“This pivotal move will facilitate focused discussions, improved attention to Ayush-related concerns, and a stronger policy framework. It will further solidify the Ministry’s role in advancing a more comprehensive and globally recognized healthcare system,” the MoS remarked.
“Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the Ayush sector has expanded rapidly with a robust network of research councils, statutory bodies, and national institutes. Through initiatives like Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and the National Ayush Mission, health services are reaching millions, propelling the Ayush industry towards the ambitious $200 billion goal,” he elaborated.
Jadhav also celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025, themed ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health,’ which witnessed an impressive turnout of over 300,000 participants in Visakhapatnam this year.
“This remarkable demonstration of unity and wellness showcases the global acceptance of yoga. Additionally, initiatives like Prakriti Parikshan and Moringa-based Ayush diets reflect our commitment to evidence-based research, preventive healthcare, and the promotion of a healthy, sustainable lifestyle,” Jadhav stated.
During the meeting, Member of Parliament Purshottam Rupala suggested that the Ministry of Ayush increase public awareness through campaigns utilizing posters, banners, and other IEC materials.
He also highlighted the need to acknowledge the contributions of grassroots Vaidyas at the village and district levels, advocating for promoting their expertise so that more individuals can benefit from Ayush and enhance its systems.
Jadhav thanked the members for their active engagement and valuable contributions, emphasizing that their insights will be vital in strengthening the Ayush systems nationwide and advancing India’s position in traditional medicine globally.
