New Delhi, Aug 20 (NationPress) The Ayush industry is making significant strides toward achieving its $200 billion target, according to Prataprao Jadhav, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush.
During the inaugural Parliamentary Consultative Committee Meeting for the Ministry of Ayush held in the national capital, he noted the establishment of a dedicated Parliamentary Consultative Committee for the first time since Ayush became an independent ministry in 2014 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“This strategic initiative will facilitate focused discussions, improved attention to Ayush-related issues, and a more robust policy framework. It will further solidify the Ministry’s role in advancing a more comprehensive and globally recognized healthcare system,” the Minister stated.
“Under the Prime Minister's leadership, Ayush has expanded rapidly, supported by a solid network of research councils, statutory bodies, and national institutes. Through initiatives like Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and the National Ayush Mission, health services are reaching millions, while the Ayush industry is on a steady path to achieving the $200 billion milestone,” he added.
Jadhav also acknowledged the success of the International Day of Yoga 2025, celebrated under the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, which saw over 300,000 participants in Visakhapatnam this year.
“This impressive demonstration of unity and wellness reflects the increasing global acceptance of yoga. Additionally, initiatives such as Prakriti Parikshan and Moringa-based Ayush diets emphasize our commitment to evidence-based research, preventive healthcare, and the promotion of a healthy, sustainable lifestyle,” Jadhav remarked.
During the meeting, MP Purshottam Rupala proposed that the Ministry of Ayush should boost public awareness through campaigns utilizing posters, banners, and other IEC materials.
He also stressed the need to recognize the contributions of grassroots Vaidyas at village and district levels, urging efforts to promote their expertise to ensure more individuals can benefit from Ayush and further strengthen its systems.
Jadhav expressed appreciation for the members' active participation and valuable contributions.
He affirmed that their feedback will be crucial in fortifying Ayush systems nationwide and enhancing India’s leadership in traditional medicine globally.
