Gandhinagar, May 26 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on the brink of launching a series of development initiatives totaling Rs 5,536 crore during a special event at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on May 27.
During his two-day trip to Gujarat, the Prime Minister will lay the groundwork for significant projects spanning various sectors, with a prominent emphasis on bolstering healthcare infrastructure.
A key highlight of this occasion will be the electronic foundation laying of a new 1,800-bed hospital at Ahmedabad’s Civil Medical campus, which will be developed at a cost of Rs 588 crore and is anticipated to enhance healthcare services in the area.
Moreover, residents will benefit from essential health projects worth around Rs 672 crore aimed at improving the overall health and well-being of the community. These initiatives include the electronic inauguration of a satellite center of the U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Gandhinagar.
Constructed with an investment of Rs 84 crore, this cutting-edge cardiac and neuro care facility, situated within the Gandhinagar Civil Hospital campus, is intended to serve patients from North Gujarat and its neighboring regions.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated to the nation various development projects exceeding Rs 24,000 crore in Dahod on Monday.
While addressing a sizable public assembly, he reflected on the importance of May 26—the date he first took the oath of office as Prime Minister in 2014—and expressed gratitude to the people of Gujarat for their steadfast support and trust.
“The blessings of the people of Gujarat have always empowered me,” PM Modi stated.
“This trust propels my determination to work relentlessly for our nation,” he added.
The Prime Minister highlighted that over the last decade, India has managed to make bold, unprecedented decisions, liberating itself from years of stagnation.
“We have transitioned from an era of despair to a new chapter of confidence and advancement,” he noted.
Discussing the significance of Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance), PM Modi stressed that 140 crore Indians stand united in constructing a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
“India must produce essential goods domestically, ranging from defense equipment to medicines, from smartphones to automobiles,” he articulated, adding that Indian-made products are now being exported globally, including rail and metro technology.
