Gandhinagar, May 25 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on May 26 and 27. During this visit, he will unveil and inaugurate a multitude of development initiatives across Dahod, Bhuj, and Gandhinagar, with a total investment exceeding Rs 77,000 crore.
As per a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, his Gujarat tour will commence in Dahod on May 26, with an arrival time around 11:15 a.m.
In support of the Make in India initiative, he will introduce the Indian Railways’ Locomotive Manufacturing Plant, designed to produce 9,000 HP electric locomotives intended for both domestic and export markets. Additionally, he will flag off the inaugural electric locomotive produced at this facility.
These advanced locomotives, featuring regenerative braking systems, are projected to significantly boost the freight capacity of Indian Railways, while also enhancing energy efficiency and promoting environmental sustainability. Furthermore, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for development initiatives worth approximately Rs 24,000 crore in Dahod.
These initiatives encompass crucial railway infrastructure projects and efforts spearheaded by the Government of Gujarat. He is also anticipated to flag off a new Vande Bharat Express connecting Veraval and Ahmedabad, thereby improving regional connectivity. Later that afternoon, the Prime Minister will proceed to Bhuj, where he is expected to arrive by 4 p.m.
In Bhuj, he will launch and inaugurate various projects worth over Rs 53,400 crore. He is also scheduled to address a public assembly, emphasizing the development trajectory of the region.
On May 27, PM Modi will be in Gandhinagar to partake in the 20-year celebration of Gujarat’s Urban Growth Narrative. The event, which will occur at 11 a.m., will also serve as the launch pad for the Urban Development Year 2025. The Prime Minister is expected to engage with urban stakeholders and officials during this event.
