Hyderabad, Dec 15 (NationPress) K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), asserted on Monday that the Congress party's defeat in the Panchayat elections—despite being in the constituencies of their own Ministers—signals a significant shift in the state's political environment.
He extended his congratulations to BRS members for their remarkable performance in the second phase of the Panchayat elections.
Special accolades were given to BRS leaders and workers who showcased their strength even within Congress Ministers' constituencies, as noted in a social media update by Rama Rao.
"The rural electorate has once again underscored through their votes that the Congress's time is over, especially given that they came to power through unethical practices. The erosion of the ruling party's strongholds, even in areas represented by senior government officials, illustrates the evolving political dynamics in the state," he said.
KTR, a nickname for the BRS leader, highlighted that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's two years of ineffective governance, combined with clear dishonesty in fulfilling promises, have ensnared the Congress party, leading to its detachment from the public.
"If this is the situation of the ruling party during elections without party symbols, then the Congress is likely to encounter an even more humiliating defeat in the upcoming local body elections where party symbols will be present. These Panchayat election results serve as a wake-up call for Revanth Reddy, who is jeopardizing the welfare of Telangana’s citizens with his chaotic governance," KTR remarked.
"While the ruling party achieved a sweeping victory in the Panchayat elections organized during the BRS administration, the fact that the Congress has not managed to secure even half of the Panchayats today clearly indicates a rising public discontent against the ruling party in every village."
With it becoming evident within just two years of their administration that Congress offers no assistance but merely empty promises, it is inevitable that under CM Revanth Reddy's ineffective leadership, the ruling party will lose its foothold by the time of the Assembly elections, KTR added.
Meanwhile, KTR denounced an alleged assault on a BRS Sarpanch candidate purportedly by Congress activists in Yellareddy constituency of Kamareddy district.
He charged that a Congress candidate in Sompeta village drove a tractor into BRS candidate Bitla Balaraju and his supporters, resulting in serious injuries to them.
KTR inquired about the incident with former MLA Jajala Surender.
He checked on the well-being of the injured BRS leaders and workers, ensuring them that the BRS would support them and encouraged them to remain resilient.
Later, KTR directly contacted Kamareddy district Superintendent of Police, M. Rajesh Chandra.
He explained the Somarpet incident and demanded immediate and stringent action against the culprits.
