Hyderabad, Sep 29 (NationPress) The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is gearing up for the forthcoming local body elections and is optimistic about achieving a significant victory, declared the party’s Working President, K.T. Rama Rao, on Monday.
He asserted that the Congress government is poised for a humiliating defeat as citizens across the state have lost confidence and are once again looking towards the leadership of K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR).
K.T. Rama Rao made these remarks shortly after the State Election Commission unveiled the election schedule for rural local bodies, set for October-November.
During his address to party members at Telangana Bhavan, he welcomed senior TDP leader Pradeep Chowdhary from Jubilee Hills, along with other political figures, into the BRS under the guidance of MLC L. Ramana. K.T. Rama Rao launched a fierce critique of the current ruling party.
He emphasized that the recently introduced 'Debt Card' initiative would act as the 'Brahmastra' to dismantle the Revanth Reddy administration.
"The Congress symbol, once a hand, has now become a hand of destruction for its own party. The Debt Card campaign will bring forth the downfall of this government by showcasing its failure to fulfill its promises," he remarked.
K.T. Rama Rao mocked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s declarations about creating a 'Future City,' likening him to Nero, the Roman emperor who fiddled while Rome was in chaos.
"As Hyderabad grapples with overflowing drains, uncollected waste, and poorly lit streets, the Chief Minister is preoccupied with delivering empty speeches about future cities. It’s absurd for those who can’t maintain the current city to claim they will create a new one," he stated.
He pointed out that during KCR’s administration, 42 flyovers and underpasses were constructed in Hyderabad, while the present Congress-led government has not initiated any projects and has neglected the existing infrastructure.
He noted a growing discontent among the populace, stating that farmers, women, youth, students, and the elderly are all disillusioned with Congress governance. He accused the party of making "ghastly promises" and committing "heinous betrayals" against various social groups.
Recalling the struggles faced by farmers during previous Congress governments, he said: "Today, Telangana is once again witnessing similar tragic scenes under Revanth Reddy’s misrule."
KTR mentioned that the youth and students are frustrated due to unfulfilled promises of two lakh government jobs and scooters for female students, while the elderly feel deceived by the non-implementation of the ₹4,000 pension.
