New Delhi, Jan 28 (NationPress) With the commencement of the Parliament's Budget Session on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that the President’s Address was both comprehensive and insightful, stating it adeptly encapsulated the vision of establishing a Viksit Bharat and echoed the nation's collective aspiration for a robust and self-sufficient India.

On the social platform X, the Prime Minister shared, “The Budget Session of Parliament began today with Rashtrapati Ji’s inspiring address to both Houses. This traditional address in our parliamentary practices holds special significance, as it outlines the policy direction and collective resolve that will steer our nation’s developmental journey in the forthcoming months.”

PM Modi further noted that the address underscored India’s remarkable developmental strides in recent years while providing a lucid roadmap for the future.

“Today’s address was comprehensive and insightful. It showcased India’s notable development journey while presenting a clear direction for what lies ahead. The focus on creating a Viksit Bharat was effectively articulated, mirroring our shared aspiration for a strong and self-reliant nation. The address also encompassed a broad spectrum of themes, emphasizing sustained efforts for farmers, youth, the impoverished, and marginalized communities. It reaffirmed our collective commitment to hasten the Reform Express while stressing innovation and good governance,” he added.

In the meantime, the Budget Session of Parliament commenced with President Murmu delivering her address to the joint assembly of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in New Delhi.

This ceremonial address signifies the onset of a critical period in the Parliamentary calendar, during which Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to unveil the Economic Survey on Thursday (January 29) followed by the Union Budget on Sunday (February 1).

As political leaders gathered in the national capital, President Murmu began her speech with warmth and contemplation.

She expressed her happiness in addressing the joint session, reflecting on the previous year as a remarkable chapter in India’s journey of rapid advancement and rich cultural heritage.

Looking ahead, the President envisaged 2026 as a crucial foundation year in the nation's ambitious quest towards becoming a developed India.

She noted that the conclusion of the first quarter-century of the new millennium has yielded numerous victories, moments of national pride, and profound experiences.

Over the past decade, she observed, India has strengthened its foundation across every major sector, establishing a solid groundwork for future growth.

The address also reflected on the influence of historical remembrance in shaping the present and future.

President Murmu poignantly spoke of the country’s observance of the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, whose sacrifice continues to resonate profoundly.

She recalled the widespread tributes during the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, honoring his lasting impact on tribal communities and the broader struggle for justice. Similarly, commemorations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 150th birth anniversary reinforced the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, while celebrations of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika's birth anniversary filled the nation with music and a renewed sense of unity.

Through these reflections, the President emphasized that when a country honors its ancestors' contributions, it ignites inspiration in the younger generation, propelling the collective journey towards a developed and inclusive India.

Her words set an optimistic and unifying tone for the upcoming session, merging pride in past achievements with determination for the path ahead.

In anticipation of the session, an all-party meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday shaped the tone for the proceedings.

Leaders from various political parties expressed their key priorities and committed to fostering cooperation for smooth operations. The Congress party indicated it would focus on people-centric issues, addressing concerns over alleged electoral fraud, the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, paddy procurement, and the revival of elements of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.
