Mumbai, July 13 (NationPress) Music composer Pritam, renowned for his chart-topping tracks over the last two decades, revealed that he continues to work on the music for 'Metro...In Dino' even post the film's release.
Those familiar with Pritam understand his deep passion for his music, often obsessively refining it long after the film crew and producers deem it complete.
In a recent conversation with IANS, he expressed that his creative journey is ongoing until he feels wholly satisfied with his work. This applies to 'Metro...In Dino' as well.
Pritam stated, “I am still immersed in everything. I haven’t removed the 'Metro...In Dino' folder from my mind; the soundtrack is still very present for me.”
Despite the film's release being over a week ago, he is under pressure to finalize the soundtrack for the highly anticipated film ‘War 2’, yet he is not ready to let go of 'Metro...In Dino'. He hopes to make some last-minute adjustments to the soundtrack before its OTT debut.
He explained, “I have yet to transition to ‘War 2’. I must deliver for Ayan Mukerji. Only when the 'Metro...In Dino' folder is deleted from my mind can it be permanently erased. Once I’m content with the album, I won’t revisit it. I still wish to tweak some musical elements for the OTT release, and I am eager to put in the effort required to achieve this.”
Pritam also discussed the legacy of the ‘Metro’ franchise, the expectations surrounding 'Metro...In Dino', and the absence of KK’s vocals, which many fans have noted.
Pritam remarked, “The nostalgia from ‘Life in a Metro’ looms large over 'Metro...In Dino'. Since the music of 'Metro...In Dino' launched, many from the previous generation have expressed their longing for KK’s voice, especially after his passing in June 2022 due to a heart attack.
Regarding KK's contribution to ‘Life in a Metro’, Pritam mentioned, “Numerous fans have said, ‘We enjoyed the movie, the music was great, but we missed hearing KK.’ However, let me clarify: KK's voice was not featured in the film; it exists solely in your memories.”
He further clarified, “If you revisit ‘Life in a Metro’, you’ll find that the songs featured the voices of James and Suhail Kaul, not KK. ‘Alvida’ was performed by James, and ‘O Meri Jaan’ by Suhail. The misconception arose because the album version, which included KK and Adnan Sami, became iconic over the years.”
Pritam emphasized that ‘Life in a Metro’ has gained a cult following over 18 years, stating, “That’s nearly two decades; let’s give 'Metro...In Dino' some time too.”
“I assure you, it too will garner immense love,” he concluded.
