Chandigarh, Aug 12 (NationPress) At the BJP state headquarters here, the President of the Punjab Sarpanch Union, Karun Kaura, along with his colleagues, officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday.

The State BJP Working President, Ashwani Sharma, and former Member of Parliament Preneet Kaur warmly welcomed them into the party.

In his welcome address, BJP chief Sharma emphasized that Kaura's joining would enhance the party’s foundational strength and aid in the promotion of its policies. He expressed his belief that Kaura would play a significant role in the party’s development and outreach.

Former Union Minister Preneet Kaur remarked that the BJP is genuinely a people's party, deeply rooted in the grassroots. She highlighted that Kaura’s strong influence in rural regions and his leadership as the Sarpanch Union President would bolster the party's presence in the state.

Karun Kaura, expressing his happiness in joining the BJP, extended his gratitude to the senior leadership of the party. The party stated that all Punjabis, particularly farmers, had united and fought to protect agricultural land, which is regarded as the backbone of Punjab.

“The BJP in Punjab stood shoulder to shoulder with the farmers in this struggle. Consequently, it was celebrated at the circle level across Punjab as BJP’s Kisan Vijay Diwas,” the party added.
