Islamabad, Feb 23 (NationPress) A tragic incident unfolded in the Badrakhail region of Karak, located in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where at least three members of the Federal Constabulary (FC) lost their lives. This occurred when an ambulance, transporting injured personnel, was attacked, according to reports from local media citing law enforcement officials.

Earlier in the day, an FC post in the Dargah Shaheedan area was targeted in a quadcopter attack. The injured personnel were en route to a medical facility when the second assault took place, as confirmed by the District Police Officer (DPO) to the prominent Geo News network.

Additionally, reports indicate that at least five FC members sustained injuries from the initial quadcopter strike, along with two rescue staff who were wounded during the ambulance incident.

In response to the attacks, police initiated a search and clearance operation in the vicinity to capture the attackers, with investigations currently underway, as stated by Geo News.

On the international front, recent accusations were made by Afghanistan's Ministry of National Defence, asserting that the Pakistani military conducted deadly airstrikes in residential areas of Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, resulting in numerous civilian casualties.

According to Pajhwok news, the Afghan defence ministry described these airstrikes as a blatant violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty, leading to significant loss of innocent lives, including women and children.

Pakistan has repeatedly targeted Afghan territories, claiming these strikes are aimed at terror factions allegedly responsible for attacks within Pakistan. This has prompted retaliatory actions from the Taliban, resulting in fierce clashes along the borders and leading to closures lasting around four months.

Public sentiment in Afghanistan is increasingly turning against what is perceived as Islamabad’s aggressive posturing. Experts suggest that the Pakistani military’s actions against Afghan civilians may constitute war crimes, as highlighted by Kabul’s Tolo News.

Moreover, India has voiced its condemnation of the recent strikes, emphasizing the troubling loss of civilian lives during the sacred month of Ramadan.

'India strongly condemns Pakistan's airstrikes on Afghan territory that have resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children, during the holy month of Ramadan,' stated Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Sunday.

'This represents another attempt by Pakistan to externalize its internal failures. India reaffirms its commitment to uphold Afghanistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence,' he added.
