New Delhi, Nov 13 (NationPress) In the wake of the recent blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, Congress leader Udit Raj has criticized the current government, questioning the rise in terrorist activities during the BJP's administration.

“Let’s focus on the core issue. If terrorism is present, the government itself acknowledges connections with foreign terrorist factions. Don’t evade our inquiries — explain why these occurrences arise specifically during your governance,” Udit Raj remarked to IANS.

He further stated, “Numerous significant terrorist incidents, such as the Uri attack, the Pahalgam event, Pulwama, the recent Red Fort explosion, and even the Kandahar hijacking, transpired under BJP leadership. Why does terrorism seem to escalate during their time in power?”

Following the blast near the Red Fort, investigative agencies are on the lookout for another vehicle, a Maruti Brezza. Officials are also analyzing the rationale behind the terror cell's use of multiple vehicles.

A vehicle identified as an i20 exploded close to the Red Fort, while a Ford Eco Sport belonging to Dr. Umar Mohammad was reported missing and later located in Faridabad. The search continues for the third vehicle, the Brezza.

Sources indicate that the terror group had intentions of executing a series of car bombings, but their plans were thwarted before they could carry out additional attacks.

Recently released CCTV footage reveals Dr. Umar Mohammad operating an i20 in Connaught Place, the heart of Delhi, nearly five hours before arriving at the Red Fort, where the explosion occurred.

According to police reports, Umar was observed driving the explosive-laden car around 2:05 PM on Connaught Place’s Outer Circle, before proceeding towards Mayur Vihar and ultimately the Red Fort vicinity.

Delhi Police sources confirmed that DNA test results have conclusively identified Umar. His DNA matched entirely with that of his mother and brother, confirming his presence in the vehicle during the explosion. The DNA was extracted from bone fragments, teeth, and clothing recovered from the wreckage.

The devastating blast occurred around 6:52 PM on November 10, reverberating throughout the national capital and prompting immediate security responses. The explosion struck close to one of India's most historic sites, intensifying concerns about security breaches in the high-security area surrounding the Red Fort.

In the aftermath, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has officially taken charge of the investigation from the Delhi Police Special Cell. NIA agents have sealed off the area and are conducting thorough forensic analyses of the debris, including traces of explosives, vehicle parts, and digital evidence, to unravel the entire network behind the attack.

On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and mandated an investigation into the incident with “utmost urgency” to promptly identify and bring all “perpetrators” and “backers” to justice.

The Cabinet observed a moment of silence to honor the innocent lives lost and labeled the November 10 occurrence as “a despicable terror act, executed by anti-national entities.”
