New Delhi, Nov 13 (NationPress) Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi on Thursday accused the Congress of engaging in lowly political tactics during times of terrorism, specifically linking the recent Red Fort explosion to the ongoing Bihar elections.
His remarks were prompted by comments from the Chief Minister of Karnataka, who suggested that the Centre should explain why such blasts occur only during election periods, implicitly referencing the Bihar Assembly elections.
While addressing reporters in Delhi, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi expressed his outrage, stating, "The car bomb incident near the Red Fort has left the nation in shock. At this critical juncture, instead of fostering unity and resilience, leaders from the Karnataka Congress are making statements that seem to lay a welcome mat for terrorists."
“What relevance does the car explosion near the Red Fort have to the Bihar elections? Congress leaders need to demonstrate more wisdom. They must cease their irresponsible remarks and stop engaging in cheap politics that only serve to empower terrorists,” Pralhad Joshi asserted.
The minister condemned the fact that despite the loss of twelve innocent lives and numerous injuries from the Delhi car blast, Karnataka Congress leaders continue to appear callous towards human life — labeling their actions as disgraceful.
“An inquiry by security agencies into the Red Fort explosion and the terror attack is already in progress in the national capital. Yet Congress leaders are hastily jumping to conclusions. Be it the Bengaluru café explosion or the Pahalgam terror incident, their comments consistently resonate with the rhetoric of Pakistan,” Joshi claimed.
“Whenever a terror attack strikes our nation, every political party should rise above partisan politics, support the government’s initiatives to combat terrorism, and exhibit national solidarity. We should all unite in a powerful voice against terrorism. However, the Congress leaders' engagement in such trivial politics is both tragic and unfortunate for our country,” Joshi concluded.
