Jaipur, March 31 (NationPress) The Meteorological (MeT) department has forecasted overcast conditions and potential rainfall in the southeastern regions of Rajasthan until April 3.

Light precipitation accompanied by thundershowers is expected in the Udaipur and Kota divisions on April 2, while the Jaipur, Ajmer, and Kota divisions could see similar weather on April 3.

Recent cool winds have led to a decrease in temperatures across the state, resulting in chilly nights. On Sunday, minimum temperatures fell to 10 degrees Celsius in several cities. Fatehpur (Sikar) reported the lowest temperature of 10 degrees, with Mount Abu also observing the same reading, while Sangariya noted 11 degrees.

The combination of reduced daytime warmth and cool breezes in the morning and evening has contributed to lower nighttime temperatures in these areas. A new western disturbance is anticipated to activate in Rajasthan starting April 2, bringing cloudy skies and rain across the state from April 2 to April 4.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for seven districts on April 2 and 11 districts on April 3.

Over the past 24 hours, most of Rajasthan experienced dry conditions.

The northern winds were slightly less intense on Sunday than on Saturday, leading to a rise in daytime temperatures in various cities by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius. Barmer recorded the highest temperature at 37.4 degrees, followed by Chittorgarh at 37.2 degrees, Kota at 36 degrees, Pilani at 35 degrees, and Jaisalmer and Jodhpur at 35.8 degrees, with Bikaner at 35.2 degrees, Churu at 34.4 degrees, Sri Ganganagar at 34.3 degrees, Ajmer at 33.6 degrees, and Sikar at 32 degrees Celsius.

Many cities recorded minimum temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius. Ajmer noted a minimum of 15.7 degrees Celsius, while Bhilwara recorded 13.2 degrees, Vanasthali at 13.6 degrees, Alwar at 14.2 degrees, Pilani at 13.4, Chittorgarh at 13.5, and Dholpur at 16 degrees. In Jaipur, the skies remained clear during the day but were covered with light clouds by evening. The city experienced mild warmth, with the maximum temperature reaching 33.8 degrees.

With the approaching western disturbance, Rajasthan is expected to experience cloudy weather and rainfall in the upcoming days. Night temperatures may stay low in some regions, while daytime heat is predicted to gradually increase, according to MeT officials. The northwesterly winds have helped reduce temperatures across the state.
