Jaipur, Oct 27 (NationPress) Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan declared that Rajasthan is entirely ready for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Program, which is set to kick off on October 28, 2025, and will run until February 7, 2026.

The initiative is a key component of Phase 2 implementation across 12 states, including Rajasthan. Mahajan noted that training and the printing of enumeration forms will occur from October 28 to November 3, followed by a door-to-door distribution and collection phase from November 4 to December 4.

The draft voter list is scheduled for publication on December 9, with a period for claims and objections from December 9, 2025, to January 8, 2026.

The notice and verification phase will continue until January 31, with the final voter list to be released on February 7, 2026.

As per the 2025 voter list, Rajasthan has 5,48,84,827 registered voters. Their verification will be managed by 52,469 Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Approximately 2.61 crore voters are over 40 years old, with 77 percent already mapped, while efforts are ongoing to map the remaining 2.88 crore voters under 40.

The Chief Electoral Officer highlighted that comprehensive instructions have been provided to all Divisional Commissioners, District Election Officers, and Electoral Registration Officers. These guidelines cover polling station reorganisation, training for BLOs and supervisors, coordination with political parties and media, promotion of online form submissions, and dissemination of IEC materials.

Mahajan confirmed that all BLOs and supervisors have received training, with refresher sessions planned soon. Daily progress will be tracked at the levels of ERO, DEO, and CEO, and training for volunteers and helpdesk staff will also be conducted.

Recognised political parties will receive detailed presentations encompassing all facets of the Special Intensive Revision, discussing the status of BLA appointments and the role of BLA-2.

Media cells have been established in each district, with the District Election Officer serving as the official spokesperson.

Regular press releases and social media updates will be communicated, alongside an awareness campaign in schools, colleges, and panchayats to promote online voter registration. Self-help groups and Rajsakhis will actively encourage participation among women voters.

The Election Commission of India has introduced the integrated ECINet app and website, featuring the ‘Book a Call with BLO’ option, allowing voters to connect directly with their BLOs for assistance. So far, around 5,000 calls have been made using this feature in Rajasthan. Contact information for BLOs, supervisors, AEROs, EROs, and DEOs is accessible on respective district websites.

Mahajan further reported that voter lists for all states have been uploaded to https://voters.eci.gov.in and linked to the Chief Electoral Officer’s website. Genealogical mapping is being conducted to associate current voters with those listed in previous SIR voter rolls based on verified family details, reducing the need for additional document collection.

Emphasising transparency and inclusivity, Mahajan stated that the Election Commission of India is dedicated to ensuring that the Special Intensive Revision campaign is clear, citizen-focused, and fosters participation from every eligible voter in Rajasthan’s democratic process.
