New Delhi, Nov 8 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared on Saturday that the time of “katta” and “laltane” has come to an end in Bihar, with the state now set to manufacture missiles and cannons instead of traditional country-made firearms.
While addressing a rally in the Ramgarh Assembly constituency, Rajnath Singh unveiled plans for a defence corridor in Bihar, stating, “I want to convey to RJD supporters that Ab Katta Nahin, Tope banegi… Missile banegi” (Bihar will produce cannons and missiles instead of country-made guns).
Labeling the NDA manifesto as “Atal Pratigya” or “Bhishm Pratigya”, he emphasized that the era of “katta” and “laltane” is over.
“We will not make unrealistic promises about providing government jobs to every household in Bihar, as that is financially unfeasible. Instead, we have pledged to create job opportunities by establishing MSME corridors and a defence corridor in the state,”
he remarked.
In another rally at Bihar’s Karakat Assembly, Rajnath Singh criticized the Congress party for attempting to fragment the nation based on caste and religion, accusing them of using appeasement tactics for electoral gains.
He stated, “Telangana's Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy claimed that ‘Congress means Muslims and Muslims mean Congress’. This illustrates the lengths they will go for votes.”
Rajnath Singh asserted that the BJP refrains from engaging in religious politics. “We have never participated in caste or religious politics; our focus is on justice and humanity,” he added.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, the Defence Minister remarked, “Wherever Rahul Gandhi goes, he alleges that the Election Commission has stolen votes from the people of Bihar. I ask him, is it necessary to fabricate lies for political gain? Genuine politics is about nation-building.”
He reiterated that the NDA fulfills the promises made in its manifesto.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is meticulous about not making promises that cannot be fulfilled,” he noted, emphasizing that this practice is crucial for maintaining public trust in political parties.
“We engage in politics aimed at societal development, not merely for governmental power. Parties like RJD and Congress are so desperate that they resort to deceit and even ‘buying’ votes,”
he said.
Rajnath Singh assured that the NDA will never allow a trust deficit to arise between the government and the electorate.
