Key Takeaways
Gurdaspur, March 1 (NationPress) Haryana's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, emphasized on Sunday that we must unite to restore Punjab to its former glory as 'Rangla Punjab', a place revered as the holy land of the Gurus, renowned for its sacrifices and heroism.
He acknowledged that despite the upheaval caused by Partition, the resilient people of Punjab have transformed their struggles into a source of strength.
Speaking at a gathering of the Saini community in Dinanagar, located in Gurdaspur district, Saini remarked that the forthcoming Punjab Assembly elections represent more than just a governmental shift; they signify a pivotal moment to redefine Punjab's political landscape and to ensure the dignity of its populace.
Feeling honored to be on this sacred soil, the Chief Minister called for collective efforts to once again position Punjab as a leader in development.
Saini praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognizing the Saini community's contributions, stating that promoting a grassroots worker like him to Chief Minister was a significant empowerment gesture. He announced that he would present his second Budget in the Haryana Assembly on Monday, noting that of the 217 resolutions, 60 have been accomplished, with progress underway on 120 more.
Discussing government initiatives, Saini highlighted that free dialysis services are now available to kidney patients in all Haryana hospitals and medical colleges. Senior citizens receive their pensions delivered to their homes on the 10th of every month. The Lado Lakshmi Yojana provides Rs 2,100 to women, while farmers benefit from guaranteed minimum support prices (MSP) for their crops, with payments made within 48 hours. Additionally, the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana is helping farmers.
The Chief Minister stated that housing projects for the underprivileged are underway, with plots being allocated to landless families. Ownership rights have also been granted to families residing on Panchayati land for extended periods.
Saini pointed out that the development trajectory in Punjab has been hindered due to concentrated power. “It is now time to shift the political direction.”
He expressed optimism that the OBC community will unite in the upcoming elections, playing a crucial role in establishing a Bharatiya Janata Party government that can revitalize Punjab.
He noted that the OBC community comprises 31% of Punjab's population and must come together to influence the political sphere significantly.
According to Saini, Punjab is currently facing severe challenges, including unemployment, drug abuse, crime, and migration, and now is the time to confront these pressing issues, with the Saini community poised to take on this responsibility.
