Jaipur, Oct 9 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has declared its intent to run in the forthcoming Anta Assembly by-election in Rajasthan without forming any alliance with the BJP.
RLD state leader Jogendra Singh Awana stated to IANS, “We currently do not have any partnership with the BJP at any level in Rajasthan. Hence, we will nominate our own candidate for the Anta by-election. Our collaborations are restricted to UP and the Union government.”
He further mentioned that the party has shortlisted two to three potential candidates and discussions are ongoing at the leadership level.
“The final decision will be made after consulting with our national leadership,” Awana told IANS, adding that suggestions are being forwarded to Jayant Chaudhary.
Awana highlighted that the political landscape in the state is evolving.
“The residents of Rajasthan are now seeking a third option. The RLD is rising as the voice of farmers, laborers, and the youth. We will approach this by-election with full vigor and make our presence known,” he asserted.
He pointed out the significance of the Anta by-election for the party's development.
“This election holds immense importance for us. Under the guidance of our national president Jayant Chaudhary, we are intensifying our activism in every assembly constituency to bolster our organization across the state.”
In a noteworthy update, Awana disclosed that discussions are underway with Naresh Meena, a prominent local political figure.
“Naresh Meena has an established support base and a strong rapport with the populace. If negotiations proceed positively, he could be our candidate for the Anta by-election,” Awana stated.
Recently, the RLD has been concentrating on enhancing its organizational influence in Rajasthan.
Under Jayant Chaudhary's leadership, the party has initiated a statewide campaign to assemble its teams across all seven divisions.
With the recent appointment of a city president in Jaipur, the Anta by-election is perceived as a pivotal opportunity to further solidify its presence in the state.
