Rohit Pawar Warns of Marathi Manoos Strength if Ajit Pawar Death Probe Lacks Depth
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 23 (NationPress) Rohit Pawar, a member of the NCP led by Sharad Pawar, expressed on Monday that if the investigation into the passing of the Late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is conducted superficially, the 'Marathi Manoos' (the people of Maharashtra) will demonstrate their strength. He raised concerns about the lack of progress in the investigation over the past month, highlighting that the CBI is already dealing with an overwhelming number of cases.
While addressing the media outside Vidhan Bhavan, Rohit Pawar pointed out that individuals like Amol Mitkari, Rupali Thombare, and various grassroots activists have been persistently voicing their concerns regarding Ajit Pawar’s demise.
On the topic of the pilot involved, he mentioned that comprehensive discussions have already occurred. "I wish for a transparent investigation. Although the CBI has taken over the case, what tangible inquiries have been made in the preceding month? Has CCTV footage been secured? Has an appropriate criminal investigation been conducted? A thorough inquiry is crucial. Up to this point, only two superficial reports have been presented,” Rohit Pawar stated.
He further claimed to have evidence linking influential individuals to VSR (the aviation company), including the associations ministers have had with them.
While welcoming the CBI investigation, he expressed doubts, noting that there are currently 7,075 unresolved cases, which he likened to "putting cases on ice," insisting that a clear timeline must be established for the CBI to wrap up the investigation.
Rohit Pawar mentioned he is preparing a formal letter for the Chief Minister, aiming to secure a meeting to present it along with the evidence.
“Reports have been forwarded to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the DGCA. Approximately 70 percent of the information remains undisclosed by them. Our aim is not to engage in political maneuvering; we merely request a thorough investigation,” he said.
He asserted that he has proof regarding the extent of the damage to the Black Box, reiterating that the Marathi populace would not remain silent if the inquiry ends up being merely procedural.
Regarding the Rajya Sabha elections, Rohit Pawar underscored Sharad Pawar’s extensive 60-year political journey, asserting that his experience is beneficial to both the state and the nation. He noted that even Ajit Pawar had previously desired this, and MVA leaders like Sanjay Raut have echoed similar sentiments about Sharad Pawar's potential move to the Rajya Sabha. “A final decision will be made after Sharad Pawar returns to Mumbai to discuss this with MVA leaders,” he added.
Honoring the late leader, Rohit Pawar pledged to continue the fight to reveal the truth behind what transpired. "Maharashtra deserves clarity on the situation. Ajit Dada would often tease me with his humor. He was a leader with remarkable style, always the first to arrive at Assembly sessions and the last to leave. We have lost a disciplined, experienced Marathi leader. Regardless of the outcome, we will persist in addressing the people’s issues,” he remarked.
