Jaipur, April 22 (NationPress) Tensions are mounting between Rajasthan Royals and Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) after Jaydeep Bihani, the convener of RCA’s ad hoc committee, expressed skepticism regarding the RR's recent 2-run defeat to Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025.
Bihani raised concerns about the legitimacy of the outcome and suggested the possibility of manipulation. In retaliation, the management of the IPL franchise has filed a formal complaint with the Chief Minister, Sports Minister, and Sports Secretary, urging decisive action against Bihani.
Deep Roy, a senior official from the team, firmly rejected Bihani's claims as "false, groundless, and lacking proof".
Bihani's statement not only questioned the team’s performance but also implicated the Rajasthan Royals, Rajasthan Sports Council, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a conspiracy to exclude the RCA’s ad hoc committee from IPL-related events.
The RR management has vehemently opposed these assertions, stating, "We deny all accusations made by the convener of the ad hoc committee. Such public declarations are not only misleading but have inflicted significant harm on the reputation and credibility of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI. They also undermine the integrity of cricket."
The franchise underscored its 18-year collaboration with the state association and government, along with its commitment to adhering to BCCI regulations. According to the BCCI’s current arrangements, the Rajasthan Sports Council possesses the official rights to host IPL matches in Jaipur for the ongoing season.
The Royals clarified their cooperation with both the Council and the BCCI under the supervision of the state government to ensure the smooth execution of the tournament. Previously, Bihani mentioned that the RCA has successfully hosted ICC-BCCI international matches and events in the state.
However, the Sports Council is allegedly conspiring against the interests of sports by excluding the government-formed ad hoc committee from the IPL match taking place in Jaipur. The State Sports Council allegedly kept the RCA ad hoc committee from organizing the IPL and failed to provide accreditation cards for the event's members, he claimed.
