Washington, Dec 20 (NationPress) US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that the United States is in favor of discussions between Lebanon and Israel to avert a larger conflict, while asserting that Hezbollah must not remain a military threat.
“Ultimately, the common objective is to establish a robust Lebanese government that has control over the nation and disarms Hezbollah,” Rubio stated during his year-end press briefing on Friday.
