Ayodhya, Feb 6 (NationPress) A multitude of revered saints and spiritual leaders from across India have voiced their disapproval regarding the Netflix film 'Ghooskhor Pandat'. Numerous prominent religious authorities have vehemently condemned the film, labeling it as detrimental to society and asserting that both its title and content foster animosity and could undermine social unity.
Mahant Sitaram Das Maharaj of Saket Bhawan Temple in Ayodhya expressed his outrage, stating, "The intentional targeting of a specific community while associating an objectionable term with its name is profoundly regrettable and worthy of censure. The phrase 'Ghooskhor Pandat' is derogatory and cultivates a negative perception of the entire community."
He questioned whether the filmmakers aimed to expose societal issues, why they did not consider that similar individuals exist within other religions or communities.
"The Brahmin community is under scrutiny simply because it embodies tolerance and has consistently prioritized national interests. It is utterly unacceptable to attack such a peaceful and humble community," he asserted.
Mahant Deveshacharya Maharaj of Siddh Peeth Hanuman Garhi also raised concerns regarding the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), questioning, "How can films that incite discord and division within society be approved? This movie seeks to insult and malign a particular community, which is intolerable in any context. Strict measures must be implemented, and the filmmakers should issue a public apology to the entire Brahmin community."
Hanuman Garhi saint Amit Das Ji Maharaj described the film as unfortunate, stating, "Misrepresenting any religion or caste through cinema conveys a damaging message to society. Such films stir animosity among people. The censor board must recognize its duties and promptly prohibit such films. The exhibition of 'Ghooskhor Pandat' should cease immediately, and a thorough investigation into the matter is essential."
Jagatguru Paramhansacharya Maharaj remarked, "This film has the potential to disrupt communal harmony. It insults the Brahmin community. If this film is released, it will undoubtedly ruin the social climate and likely incite violence involving its creators. Therefore, I urge the Union government and authorities to ensure that no film is released that offends or belittles any community."
