New Delhi, March 10 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Vishwas Sarang, has publicly criticized the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha (LoP) Rahul Gandhi for his statements suggesting that certain Congress leaders in Gujarat are collaborating with the BJP.
Sarang pointed out that Gandhi should have approached the matter with greater maturity and refrained from airing party issues publicly.
Rahul Gandhi garnered attention with his claims that some Congress leaders and workers in Gujarat are covertly supporting the BJP.
He added that as part of a potential “clean-up,” 30-40 members might face dismissal if required. This statement drew a reaction from former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, who backed Gandhi’s comments, urging him to take decisive action against the alleged BJP supporters within the Congress party.
In a conversation with IANS, Vishwas Sarang expressed his disbelief at the nature of Gandhi’s public remarks.
“This is an internal party issue, so I can't comment on it. However, it is astonishing that someone regarded as the top leader of Congress would express himself in this manner,” Sarang remarked.
He further highlighted that Gandhi, as a significant figure in the party, should have kept such remarks private.
“If he suspects that there are individuals undermining the party, he ought to take measures discreetly. With all this, Rahul Gandhi has again highlighted his immaturity,” Sarang concluded.
While Sarang chose not to comment on Digvijaya Singh’s involvement, he stressed that if Gandhi had pinpointed such issues, they should have been dealt with internally.
In his address to the Congress workers in Gujarat, Rahul Gandhi asserted, "There are two categories of individuals within the Gujarat Congress leadership and workforce. Those who are committed to the people, advocate for them, respect them, and uphold the Congress ideology. The others are detached from the populace, sitting at a distance, and half of them are with the BJP."
