Bhopal, Sep 16 (NationPress) In a pointed criticism of the Congress party, Madhya Pradesh Minister and senior BJP figure Vishwas Sarang remarked that Rahul Gandhi's 'Sangathan Srijan' initiative has been a complete failure, as prominent leaders within the party are openly questioning its state leadership.
Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sarang's comments follow Congress leader Kamleshwar Patel's recent criticisms directed at Madhya Pradesh Congress in-charge Harish Choudhary and party state unit head Jitu Patwari.
“The fact that a senior Congress figure like Patel has raised concerns about the party's leadership in the state indicates that Rahul Gandhi's Sangathan Srijan has utterly failed, leading to the shrinkage of Congress’s influence in Madhya Pradesh,” Minister Sarang stated.
He further alleged that numerous Congress leaders in the state are now positioning themselves as potential Chief Ministerial candidates for the upcoming 2028 Assembly elections.
“Umang Singhar, the Leader of Opposition, along with other Congress leaders, are vying to present themselves as chief ministerial contenders. This reflects the dwindling trust the public has in Congress, and even among its leaders, there is a noticeable lack of confidence in their top leadership,” he added.
On Monday, former MLA Patel voiced his concerns about the increasing factionalism within the Madhya Pradesh Congress unit.
He directly held Harish Choudhary accountable for the disorganization among senior leaders and accused him of bias.
During a press conference, Patel emphasized that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have entrusted them with a significant responsibility, urging for decisive action.
“Differences among leaders are a natural aspect of politics. I urge Harish Choudhary and Jitu Patwari to work towards a consensus among all leaders as they lead the state unit,” Patel stated.
However, the state Congress leadership has remained silent concerning Patel's allegations.
Notably, Jitu Patwari and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar are set to attend a public meeting in Rewa (Patel's home division) on Tuesday and Wednesday.
