Bhopal, May 29 (NationPress) In an effort to resolve internal conflicts and reorganize the Congress unit in Madhya Pradesh, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is scheduled to arrive in Bhopal on June 3.
During his visit, he plans to engage in comprehensive discussions with local Congress leaders and party workers, dedicating roughly seven hours to vital conversations regarding the party’s restructuring efforts.
LoP Rahul Gandhi's main goal in Bhopal is to initiate the Congress's organizational revitalization campaign, named ‘Sangathan Srujan Abhiyan’, designed to rejuvenate the party's impact and presence in Madhya Pradesh.
“We will take stringent measures against any Congress members collaborating with the BJP. No matter how many there are, we will identify and address such persons decisively. This action is crucial for restoring the party’s credibility and enhancing its internal integrity,” stated Umang Singhar, the Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly.
He further criticized the ruling BJP, claiming, “The BJP has compromised democracy at every level. It's time for a well-organized Congress to respond with a widespread movement.”
A proactive group known as 'Team-50' has been established, consisting of parliamentarians, state legislators, and former ministers from various regions including Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. These accomplished individuals have been assigned as observers to evaluate and strengthen the party’s framework in their respective districts, as per Singhar.
Moreover, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has designated 50 primary observers, with an additional four associate observers per district expected to be officially revealed by June 1.
The Madhya Pradesh Congress has already forwarded a list of potential associate observers to Delhi, with a formal announcement anticipated following the Jai Hind Sabha set for May 31 in Jabalpur, he added.
Under the ‘Sangathan Srujan Abhiyan’, the appointed observers will be responsible for identifying and recommending strong candidates for the position of Congress District President in their assigned regions.
Selection criteria will encompass a commitment to the party's ideology, leadership qualities, a long-standing connection with the organization, and relationships with senior leaders and grassroots members.
Each observer will be tasked with a specific district, ensuring concentrated oversight and targeted actions to bolster the Congress’s local framework.
To facilitate this initiative, the Madhya Pradesh Congress will appoint four associate observers for each district in the upcoming week.
In early June, LoP Rahul Gandhi will formally unveil the campaign by convening a strategic meeting with participants of the Sangathan Srujan Abhiyan.
This initiative is modeled on the approach taken in Gujarat after the Ahmedabad convention, where the Congress initiated the ‘Sangathan Srujan Abhiyan’ by deploying observers to each district and compiling comprehensive organizational reports.
Now, Madhya Pradesh stands as the second state to embrace this transformative agenda. Through detailed planning and coordinated actions, the Congress aims to strengthen its organizational foundation and regain its significance in the political arena, emphasized Singhar.
