Bhopal, June 3 (NationPress) Following the launch of the 'Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan' in Madhya Pradesh by the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday, the implementation of this initiative aimed at fortifying the party's presence at the grassroots level is set to commence on June 10.
Over 60 observers, appointed by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), along with the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), will begin their visits to designated districts starting June 10, remaining there until June 30.
This strategy was agreed upon during a meeting of the state's Political Affairs Committee (PAC), attended by LoP Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, at Indira Gandhi Bhawan in Bhopal, along with Harish Choudhary, the in-charge for Madhya Pradesh Congress.
Each team will consist of four members (three observers and one state observer) who will operate in their assigned districts from June 10 to June 30.
During this timeframe, they will engage with local party workers, leaders, and community members.
“The teams have a singular objective: to convene meetings with grassroots party workers, supporters, and the general public. Following this initiative, teams will identify at least six potential candidates for the role of district presidents, aiming to select the most suitable individual for this position,” stated Harish Choudhary.
He further added that the Congress party is determined to enhance the role of district Congress presidents by ensuring their accountability. These presidents will be granted the authority to make decisions regarding candidate selection.
“The Congress Working Committee (CWC) has recently resolved to include district presidents in candidate selection. During the CWC meeting in Delhi, the MP Congress leadership advocated that this process should commence in our state,” he elaborated.
Choudhary also mentioned that LoP Rahul Gandhi conducted four meetings, including those of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) and the observers appointed by the AICC, during his visit to Bhopal.
