Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi on Thursday, 13 August launched a pointed attack on Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, accusing him of exploiting student anger over the NEET paper leak for political gain ahead of the latter's announced August 19 Raj Bhavan March in Patna.

Tejashwi's March Dismissed as Political Theatre

Saraogi alleged that Tejashwi's call for a march to Raj Bhavan — ostensibly to protest police action against students agitating over the NEET paper leak — was a calculated political exercise rather than genuine solidarity. He pointed out that when the student movement was at its peak in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav was reportedly abroad in Europe, raising questions about his stated concern for the protesters.

Saraogi further cited the recent Bankipur bye-election as evidence of public rejection, claiming that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate had allegedly lost the security deposit — a result he described as the electorate's verdict on Tejashwi's brand of politics. 'The announcement of a march in the name of students is, therefore, merely a political stunt,' Saraogi argued.

Contractor Killing in Hajipur Raises Concern

Saraogi also expressed grief over the killing of construction contractor Ramnaresh Rai in Hajipur, calling the incident extremely serious. He demanded that the perpetrators not be spared and expressed confidence that the police would arrest the accused within 48 hours. The killing has, according to reports, created significant concern among residents in the area, who are awaiting progress in the investigation.

NDA Unity Not Under Strain, Says Saraogi

Responding to Congress allegations that a meeting of BJP ministers at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's residence signalled cracks within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Saraogi dismissed the claim outright. He said such meetings between the Chief Minister and his ministers are a routine part of governance, held regularly to address administrative and day-to-day matters, and carry no political significance.

On questions about Kumar's separate meeting with Janata Dal (United) MPs in Delhi, Saraogi noted that Kumar is the National President of JD(U), making interactions with party MPs entirely normal. He cautioned against reading political discord into standard party functioning. Saraogi turned the tables on Congress, sarcastically remarking that a party that cannot consolidate its own alliance should refrain from commenting on NDA's cohesion.

Rahul Gandhi Targeted Over Parliamentary Conduct

Saraogi also trained his sights on Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, over Gandhi's remarks regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah's absence from the House during debates over the NEET paper leak controversy and Delhi Police action against students. Saraogi called Gandhi the 'poster boy of anarchy' and alleged that he had been disrupting parliamentary proceedings for the past 17–18 days. He argued that the Opposition should raise substantive concerns constructively within Parliament rather than use them as instruments of political disruption.

The remarks reflect a broader BJP effort to frame the Opposition's student-issue activism as opportunistic, even as the NEET controversy continues to generate political heat nationally.
