Bengaluru, Jan 24 (NationPress) Responding to the Karnataka Police's appeal against the bail granted to Kannada film icon Darshan in the high-profile fan murder case, Karnataka's Home Minister G. Parameshwara emphasized that the police have completed their responsibilities.

In a press interaction in Bengaluru, when questioned about the matter, HM Parameshwara remarked, “We have fulfilled our duties. The police have provided pertinent documents and evidence to the Supreme Court through their lawyer.”

“We will await the Supreme Court's ruling on the Karnataka Police's petition before deciding on subsequent steps,” he added.

Advocate Anil C Nishani has submitted the plea on behalf of the Karnataka government.

Since obtaining bail, Darshan has maintained a low profile.

Upon granting bail, the court mandated him and the other accused to report to it monthly.

Darshan's legal representative had argued for medical bail, claiming that without surgery, the actor risked a stroke. However, there has been no update on any surgery since his release from jail.

Later, the court granted him regular bail.

Darshan, Pavithra, and 15 others were detained on June 11, 2024, facing allegations of kidnapping and the brutal murder of Renukaswamy, a fan from Chitradurga.

Renukaswamy had reportedly sent offensive messages to Pavithra Gowda, upset that Darshan continued to engage with her despite his marriage.

Following the emergence of images depicting his alleged “luxurious treatment” at Bengaluru Central Prison, Darshan was transferred to Ballari Prison.

He is currently dealing with three FIRs related to this case. The police presented a comprehensive 3,991-page charge sheet to the court on September 4, along with an additional document.

On October 30, 2024, Darshan was released after 131 days in custody.

Pavithra Gowda, the main suspect in the case, is recognized as Darshan's long-term associate.

Sources have indicated that Pavithra Gowda competed with Darshan's spouse, Vijayalaxmi, over luxury items.

She allegedly urged Darshan to appear publicly with her following sightings of him with his wife.

Public altercations between Pavithra and Vijayalaxmi on social media led to divisions among Darshan's fans.

Renukaswamy, who aligned with Vijayalaxmi, condemned Pavithra, which police reports suggest ultimately resulted in his tragic demise.
