Actor Darshan and Partner Pavithra Gowda's Bail Challenged in Supreme Court Over Fan Murder Case

Bengaluru, Jan 6 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police have taken action to contest the bail that was awarded by the High Court to Kannada actor Darshan, his partner Pavithra Gowda, and several other individuals implicated in the fan murder case by appealing to the Supreme Court.

Bengaluru DCP West S. Girish has confirmed that a Special Leave Petition (SLP) was filed in the Supreme Court on Monday.

The police have submitted an appeal to revoke the bail granted to Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and other accused including Laxman, Pradoosh, Nagaraju, Anukumar, and Jagadish. The petition has been lodged through senior advocate Anil C Nishani, according to sources.

The Karnataka High Court had previously granted regular bail to the Kannada superstar and his partner in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, a fan from Chitradurga, on December 13.

Darshan was released from custody on October 30 after serving 131 days in jail under interim bail.

Pavithra Gowda, aged 33, was granted bail from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru on December 17.

Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others were apprehended on June 11 on allegations of kidnapping and violently murdering Renukaswamy.

Renukaswamy had reportedly sent inappropriate and offensive messages to Pavithra Gowda, upset over the actor's relationship with her despite being married.

In response to the bail granted to Darshan and the other accused in this high-profile murder case, the victim's father, Kashinathaiah Shivanagoudar, expressed his belief that the bail will be contested in the Supreme Court.

Kashinathaiah Shivanagoudar stated: "I have complete trust in the judicial system. I learned about the bail granted to Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and the other accused. I am confident that justice will be served after the court proceedings conclude."

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand indicated that the police are preparing to challenge the bail granted to the accused in the Supreme Court concerning the Renukaswamy murder case.

According to sources, the police department, following directives from the Home Ministry, translated the charge sheet against Darshan into English and submitted it to the Supreme Court.

Special Public Prosecutor P. Prasanna Kumar argued before the Karnataka High Court that Darshan has been abusing the interim bail issued on medical grounds in this shocking fan murder case.

In his objections regarding the regular bail, Prasanna Kumar claimed that the interim bail was requested under urgent circumstances, citing fears of a potential stroke.

Prasanna Kumar added that in Darshan's instance, theatrical scenarios akin to films are being fabricated.

"The conditions of the interim bail are being exploited. They will again assert that Darshan is on the verge of a stroke tomorrow. To this point, surgery has not been performed, hence I urge the court to revoke the bail," he asserted.
