Court Adjourns Renukaswamy Murder Case Hearing to February 25 with Darshan Present

Bengaluru, Jan 10 (NationPress) On Friday, the court announced the adjournment of the hearing in the Renukaswamy murder case until February 25, after confirming the attendance of the accused, Kannada superstar Darshan, along with his partner and actress Pavithra Gowda.
While granting bail, the court mandated that both individuals appear before it monthly.
During the attendance recording, the court instructed Darshan and Pavithra Gowda to return for the next court date on February 25.
All other defendants in the case were also present alongside Darshan and Pavithra.
Pavithra arrived significantly earlier than the scheduled hearing with another accused, Pradoosh, while Darshan came later in the company of his lawyer.
On June 11, 2024, Darshan, Pavithra, and 15 additional suspects were apprehended on allegations of kidnapping and the brutal murder of Renukaswamy, a fan from Chitradurga. Renukaswamy reportedly sent offensive and lewd messages to Pavithra Gowda, which incited anger in Darshan, who was in a relationship with her despite his marital status.
After images of his purported 'royal treatment' at Bengaluru Central Prison emerged, Darshan was transferred to Ballari Prison. He is currently facing three FIRs related to the incident. The police presented a comprehensive 3,991-page chargesheet on September 4, supplemented by an additional chargesheet to the court.
On October 30, 2024, Darshan was released from custody after serving 131 days in jail.
In the meantime, the Karnataka Police have lodged an appeal in the Supreme Court, contesting the High Court's ruling to grant bail to Darshan in connection with the fan murder case.
Pavithra is recognized as Darshan's long-time partner. Close associates of Darshan disclosed that Pavithra Gowda and his wife, Vijayalaxmi, were in competition over possessions such as jewelry and luxury vehicles. She reportedly urged Darshan to make public appearances alongside her after he had been spotted with his wife.
Public confrontations between Pavithra and Vijayalaxmi on social media intensified tensions, with Darshan's fans taking sides. Renukaswamy, who was an ally of Vijayalaxmi, criticized Pavithra, ultimately leading to his tragic demise, according to police investigations.
