Karnataka Police to Challenge Bail Granted to Actor Darshan in Fan Murder Case

Bengaluru, Dec 17 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police Department has revealed its intention to file an appeal in the Supreme Court to contest the bail awarded to Kannada actor Darshan in relation to the fan murder case.

During a press conference in Bengaluru on Tuesday, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand stated, “In line with the Renukaswamy murder case, our department is preparing to approach the Supreme Court to dispute the bail granted by the High Court to the accused.”

“We are in the process of sending a proposal to the government regarding this and are moving forward with filing an appeal,” he added.

According to sources, following directives from the Home Ministry, the police have translated the charge sheet against Darshan into English, and it is now ready for submission to the Supreme Court.

Last Friday, the Karnataka High Court granted bail to Kannada superstar Darshan and his partner Pavithra Gowda in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case.

Darshan was released from incarceration on October 30 on interim bail after spending 131 days in custody.

The actor is currently receiving treatment for severe back pain at the BGS Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru.

His partner, actress Pavithra Gowda (33), was also granted bail and released from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru on Tuesday. Darshan, Pavithra, and 15 others were arrested on June 11 for charges of kidnapping and the brutal murder of Renukaswamy, a fan hailing from Chitradurga.

Renukaswamy had reportedly sent inappropriate and obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda, as he was upset with Darshan's relationship with her despite being married.

In response to the bail granted to the Kannada superstar and other accused individuals in this shocking fan murder case, the victim Renukaswamy's father, Kashinathaiah Shivanagoudar, expressed confidence that the bail will be contested in the Supreme Court.

Speaking to the media in Chitradurga, Kashinathaiah Shivanagoudar remarked: "I have complete faith in the judicial system. I have learned about the bail granted to Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and the other accused. I am optimistic that once the court trial concludes, justice will be served."

"Although the accused may have received temporary bail, I am confident that the judicial system will ensure they are held accountable for their actions."
