Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, March 23 (NationPress) Renowned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) figure and the Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Rajendra Shukla, declared on Monday that the state administration is launching targeted programs aimed at securing the health of women throughout all phases of their lives, from adolescence through motherhood.
During the inauguration of the 'Shakti Kendra' — a Comprehensive One-Stop Women's Health Centre located at the Kailash Nath Katju hospital in Bhopal — Deputy Chief Minister Shukla, responsible for the health and medical education sectors within the state, addressed a crowd of women.
He thoroughly inspected the 'Shakti Kendra' and engaged with specialist doctors to receive insights regarding the quality of health services offered.
He characterized the 'Shakti Kendra' as a groundbreaking and essential initiative designed to enhance women's awareness, health, and empowerment.
Shukla highlighted that by offering holistic, modern, and easily accessible healthcare solutions under one roof, the center would play a significant role in improving women's quality of life.
The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that a healthy woman is the cornerstone of a thriving family and an empowered community.
He remarked on the ongoing increase in the number of medical colleges and available seats, indicating a future boost in healthcare services.
He also pointed out that through the Ayushman Bharat initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided access to healthcare services for the economically disadvantaged and marginalized communities, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder medical treatment.
On this occasion, Rachna Dubey, the Health and State Nodal Officer Director, mentioned that the 'Shakti Kendra', an acronym for spreading health awareness knowledge through technology and innovation, has been developed as a holistic healthcare solution for women, emphasizing both physical and mental health.
Dubey noted that many women, especially adolescent girls, often overlook their health issues; a lack of awareness and hesitation frequently leads to undetected gynaecological conditions.
"The Shakti Kendra prioritizes early detection and prevention of cancer, providing services like breast cancer screenings, breast self-examinations, thermography, and cervical cancer screenings," she stated.
Dubey added that the Shakti Kendra addresses rising health concerns such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, thyroid issues, diabetes, and hormonal imbalances among women, offering advanced diagnostic tools, ultrasound services, treatments for irregular menstruation, weight management plans, nutritional guidance, yoga, and lifestyle counseling.
