Mumbai, Dec 20 (NationPress) Actress Shefali Shah has highlighted that during frigid weather, the cinematic allure of wearing chiffon sarees amidst snow is something that only appears appealing in Yash Raj films.
Currently visiting Norway with her family, the actress has shared her insights on coping with the extremely cold climate.
She mentioned, “Insights from a once frozen, now thawing human.
• It’s not love that’ll keep you warm; it’s the thermals.
• Don’t abandon the ever-reliable theplas.
• Beware of black ice; it’s treacherous. You might end up falling along with your belongings. Unless you possess Kali’s hands to juggle your gloves, phone, beanie, scarf, etc.
• Chiffon sarees are fabulous in Yash Raj films, but in reality, they could lead to the loss of fingers and toes (they could freeze and fall off).”
She further cautioned against underestimating the cold, stating, “Do not take the cold lightly. Here, less isn’t more; in fact, more is less, so keep layering up. You might even manage to fit 64 layers of thermals beneath your outermost jacket.
• I don’t know who these people are that look fashionable in winter attire. It’s certainly not me.
• You can either look sharp or be warm and alive. I chose the latter.”
She continued, “Snow pants aren’t about style; they are essential for keeping your backside dry, so wear them.
• Set aside three hours just to get dressed. Between putting on layers, handling mishaps, catching your breath, tying shoelaces, and adjusting gloves, you’ll need more than three hours.
She added, “If you didn’t get photos against the fjords, mountains, snowy landscapes, or auroras, just claim others’ pictures (taken from behind) as your own. They all look alike.
• What really matters are the inner and outer layers; everything else is just fluff, as Ghalib would say, ‘dil ko behlane ke liye yeh khayal achha hai.’
She also advised against wearing heeled boots.
“If you have snowshoes from the 1900s, I recommend breaking them in before your trip. It’s likely you’ll find your shoes ‘sole-less’, leaving you feeling ‘soulless.’ So, better to get new ones.
• Heeled boots are alluring, but frumpy is alive; I can’t speak for the model, though.”
To conclude, Shah expressed her admiration for the beauty of each snowflake. “Santa doesn’t wear his red suit when working from home, in case you can’t spot him.
• When diving with orcas, they won’t harm you. Hypothermia might, but trust me, the experience is worth it.
• The Aurora Borealis is perhaps the only natural phenomenon that appears better through the lens of a camera.
• Every snowflake is unique and beautiful, just like each of us.
• This world is magical. Embrace it.”
For those unaware, Shefali Shah visited Norway to celebrate her wedding anniversary with her husband, Vipul Amrutlal Shah, accompanied by their sons.
Shefali was seen relishing the Northern Lights during her trip, sharing her experiences on her social media.
